National Trails Day- South Fallsburg Rail Trail Cleanup

National Trails Day Logo

Come celebrate National Trails Day® — a nationwide celebration organized by the American Hiking Society to promote, enjoy, and steward trails – on the South Fallsburg Rail Trail!  This is your chance to get outdoors, connect with other members of the community, and give back to the trails you love. This year, the Town of Fallsburg Parks Department is hosting a volunteer cleanup on a one-mile section of the Sullivan O&W Rail Trail between Hurleyville and South Fallsburg.  Interested individuals should meet at the access point located at 144 Pleasant Valley Road (near the intersection with La Vista Drive) in South Fallsburg. From there, volunteers will be split into two groups – one heading south toward South Fallsburg where a new trailhead parking area and playground is planned near the basketball court, and the other heading north toward Westwood Drive and Alta Lake.  Bring work gloves and hand tools for trimming trees and brush if you have them.
